tip # duh.
if you don't like the make-up on the woman at the make-up counter, it's highly unlikely you're going to like the make-up she puts on you.
and no one EVER needs 3 kinds of concealer.

When I was getting married, I set up an appointment with a lady at the Clinque counter to do my makeup for me. When I got there to do my consult, I saw this woman with HUGE hair and pancaked makeup. Panic! I asked her if she was the one doing my makeup - I got lucky, because she said no & pointed at the lady next to her who barely wore any makeup. I was so relieved!! It's like getting your hair done by someone whose hair you don't like, you know?
precisely. i'm looking forward to finding a makeup artist that has a light touch. they all seem to feel i need a 1 inch thick line of eyeliner to go with a 1 inch thick layer of base.

How ironic - the woman who is motivating other women to be happy with themselves "as is" - and the makeup artists who want to cover all of that up!
I love the Aveda folks. Overpriced? Sure. But organic, animal-free, and mellow vibe.
